Corporate advisory board

The Corporate Board advises us on business and organizational matters and comprises:

Ruud Hendriks (1945)

Ruud has been working in the fund management industry for over 30 years. In the course of his international career, Ruud has held senior roles at some of the most recognized names in the business. Currently Ruud Hendriks is senior advisor to KKR, a leading global alternative asset manager. Ruud also is a non-executive director at the Man Group PLC and President of Man Investments SGR S.p.A. Man is a world-leading alternative investment management business. At Syntrus Achmea Ruud is senior advisor to the board. Ruud also is a member of the Talergroup corporate advisory board, chairman of the advisory board at Financial Assets and Advisor to the NIBC Asset Management Team.vPreviously, Ruud worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management which he joined in 2001 as managing director, becoming co-head of sales for Europe (excluding Germany and Austria), Middle East and Africa in 2006. Ruud retired from Goldman Sachs in 2009. Ruud earned his MA in Private Law from the Free University in Amsterdam in 1972.

Wim van Hulsenbeek (1949)

In 1974 Wim completed his study on business economics at the University of Amsterdam. That same year he started his career with KPMG and earned his RA (accountant) title in 1976. In 1978 he obtained his American accounting qualification (New York State Certified Public Accountants qualification). During his career at KPMG he was responsible for audit and other services that were supplied to several major listed companies. In the eighties Wim worked seven years for KPMG in New York, primarily as a liaison for Dutch clients. He fulfilled several management positions within KPMG, NIVRA (Dutch Institute of Chartered Accountants) and various educational entities. He was a member of the Dutch and European boards of KPMG from 1996 to 2006 and a board member of the NIVRA from 2004 to 2008. After his retirement from KPMG, Wim remained active in business. He holds several board positions in the Netherlands and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the accountancy course at the Free University.

Our Investment Advisors regularly cast a critical eye on our investment process and the composition of portfolios and act as a sounding board.

Robert Helderman (1959)

Robert is Managing Director Equities at Anthos whiched he joined in 1983. From 1983 to 1988 his main responsibilities included sector specialisation as an analyst, and managing the European portfolio. He was subsequently portfolio manager for the USA and Latin American equity markets from 1988 to 1998. He is a member of the Asset Allocation Committee and became Managing Director of Equities in 1998. Robert graduated in 1983 with a degree in Business Economics at the HEAO in Alkmaar. He obtained a first degree of economics (MO) in 1986.

Ruurd Haan (1968)

Ruurd is Director of Sales of IPM Informed Portfolio Management with principal responsibility for the Netherlands/Benelux. Prior to joining IPM, he had extensive experience in the Dutch market, most recently as the manager of ING's Sales Trading Desk, and previously as an investment strategist for Philips Pension Fund and portfolio manager for Unilever Pension Fund. Ruurd began his career in 1995 working in quantitative equity research at ING Financial Markets in Amsterdam. He has a degree in financial economics from the University of Groningen.
